Is it just me or does anyone else feel this wave of emotion coming up from out of nowhere? I keep saying to myself that it’s because we are entering the dog days of summer and with hockey and basketball winding down and the NFL 100 days away we begin to enter a depression of sports so to speak.
Lets star this journey in September when the NFL and NCAA football season kicks off and all is right in the world again. We get to watch our favorite sport hit the gridiron as Summer starts to wind down and we enjoy that Labor day cookout with the windows open for the last few times of the year. A few short weeks later the NHL and NBA start the beginning of there grueling 82 game seasons and all of the sudden we have sports on TV every night and were grinning from ear to ear.
Bowl games galore keep us happy as we make it through the holidays and the calendar turns to a new year we realize that the NFL is coming to another seasons end and we start to turn our focus to the NBA and NHL in full force and it gets us through those heart aches of not having football on Sundays anymore. Just as we need something new we get graced by the NCAA tournament and March Madness swoops in to steal our attention for a month and its just the break we need as the passion and upsets from these young kids capture our hearts.
As we catch our breath from all of that action its short lived because the NBA and NHL are about to rev up for the post season and give us all the excitement we can handle with dramatic game 7’s and OT thrillers. In the middle of all this we get a taste of football for a few weeks leading up to the NFL draft and the draft itself. It keeps us wanting more as we start the countdown to Kickoff.
As we are about to wrap up the NHL and NBA playoffs we begin to realize that only baseball sits on the horizon and with 162 games, you start to lose interest in a random Tuesday game between the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals. So enjoy these last few weeks of sports before we venture outside and to the beach and put out Toes In The Sea. T.I.T.S. shirts available at www.hungoversports.com/store
