Antonio Brown sure left an impression on the Steelers and the NFL as a whole on his way to Oakland in a trade that sent the superstar wide receiver to the Raiders for a 3rd and 5th round pick. Its really funny when you look back in time and see the writing on the wall of this breaking this way and ending just as it did. Once Brown did the video in the locker room breaking privacy protocol and barely getting a slap on the wrist Mike Tomlin and the Steelers organization left the door open for this type of behavior to be acceptable if you could play ball when it was Sunday.
Tomlin is responsible for this and I go back as far as when he stepped on the field on the kick return against the ravens and caused Jacoby Jones to trip and fall. That made the case for anyone in the locker room to break the rules and not fear the consequences. Yes im saying Tomlin is just as much at fault as Brown is for this whole scenario and how it broke out.
Tomlin has a reputation for being a players coach but he has reached a point where there is a lack of respect in that locker room and now it seems inevitable for a change in the guard in steel city. Brown only followed what fellow ex Steeler Leveon Bell did and hedged his bets that a team would eventually come calling and pay him the money he was seeking. Bell may very well follow Brown to Oakland and give the Raiders that 1-2 punch they drastically need and all Steelers fans can do is sit there and blame a guy who has underachieved with that teams he has had under him. the Steelers organization would be wise to start looking for an exit strategy on Mike Tomlin and see if the coaching market is hot for a team with such history. Until then look for a disaster at Heinz field every Sunday.
